Brookline [Boston]—
Brookline police have arrested their second high-profile tagger of the month
Christopher Michael Levett, 21, of 179 Lexington St., East Boston, was arrested on July 25, at 12:43 a.m., outside the Café Luna on Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge. Police had been actively investigating Levett’s tags for several months. Another tagger, John Dinius, 17, of Brookline, was arrested on July 19.
Police zeroed in on Levett after arresting Dinius, who tagged using the pseudonym “Loki.” Dinius told police he’d tagged with Levett on a few occasions, and mentioned that he was dating Levett’s ex-girlfriend
Dinius told police that “Nugs,” was a slang term for marijuana.
Police spoke to the girlfriend, who said she broke up with Levett because his tagging habit became all-consuming, going from a few days a week to every night. She said Levett would often spend five hours a night spreading his tags around the area. She was able to identify a few more of Levett’s tags, including a drawing of a rabbit she called the “Nugs Bunny.”
