Original Message [link to www.cbs12.com] A Fortville, Indiana police officer was shot and injured after chasing a suspect Friday, and the dramatic incident was caught on tape.

Dashcam video from the Fortville Police Department shows Officer Matt Fox chasing suspect James Lockhart.

As soon as Lockhart brings his car to a stop, he gets out and starts firing multiple rounds from his handgun.

Luckily, Officer Fox was wearing a bullet proof vest and was not seriously injured. He's currently listed in good condition at a local hospital.

The 27-year old suspect was later killed in a firefight with police officers. [link to www.wgrz.com]
