Original Message I am stuggling to decide on a firearm to buy for protection when society breaks down. I think a sub/compact semi-auto handgun is the best. I own a Ruger Mark III and enjoy shooting it. It looks like the Springfield XD would fit the bill. I just can't see me walking down the street with a shotgun, and I think it would be cumbersome. I like the Ruger Mini 14 rifle, but again it may be awkward to lug it around. Any suggestions?
