Original Message What precisely might be the rather long rod or attachment that extends out in the front of the the things? Did not appear to be a gun, but couldn't tell for sure since they were mostly gone by the time I came outside.

Also, why black? Are these possibly two of the recently "modified" Chinooks Boeing just delivered to the Army?

Awesome birds for sure....just curious to see if anyone knows anything more about these new ones, and why they might be black...
