I would like to know this as well...So WHAT if it is Venus (and how do you know they aren't censoring those star charts?That's a government program, isn't it?) I have NEVER seen Venus this bright and I've been star gazing for 45 years and an early riser.  This is unprecedented in our lifetimes!  So is it getting closer or is this just cyclical and occurs every hundred or so years?

I am a bit suspicious of those government websites where these things are labeled as familiar objects.  They may be accurate but if we WERE on the cusp of an ELE from a large planetary object, there is NO WAY they would tell us!  It would just be easier to label it as "Venus" to avoid a panic.  Gotta keep those tax dollars rolling in.

I was even wondering if this image we have from our Sun is websites like www.spaceweather.com is for real. C'mon guys, the could've developed a program to fool people that have no other ways to check whether is true or false but using .gov websites - which [2] in my opinion is 100% bias!

It's likely to believe then that we've been completely blind-folded and well-taught to how chase shadows in the dark.

Venus, Betelgeuse & Orion around 1:16
Then Pollux, Procyon & Sirius at time 1:30
Mercury is below Pollux, but too close to the Sun to make out.
