I was wondering, my friend, why every thing seems to be so different from what it used to be few years ago. I mean, I've never seen Venus as bright as it is now, and now this supposedly 'brighful star' ? I really don't know what is this about, and I'd really appreciate that one of those 'big-time-astronauts' could explain it to us. Cya
I would like to know this as well...So WHAT if it is Venus (and how do you know they aren't censoring those star charts? That's a government program, isn't it?) I have NEVER seen Venus this bright and I've been star gazing for 45 years and an early riser. This is unprecedented in our lifetimes! So is it getting closer or is this just cyclical and occurs every hundred or so years? I am a bit suspicious of those government websites where these things are labeled as familiar objects. They may be accurate but if we WERE on the cusp of an ELE from a large planetary object, there is NO WAY they would tell us! It would just be easier to label it as "Venus" to avoid a panic. Gotta keep those tax dollars rolling in. :huffy:
Share the same opinion. C'mon, if I were the president of one big country or could keep such a thing in secret, I wouldn't never allow neither programs nor websites to promote something I've been trying to hide successfully lol This is logical! I was even wondering if this image we have from our Sun is websites like www.spaceweather.com is for real. C'mon guys, the could've developed a program to fool people that have no other ways to check whether is true or false but using .gov websites - which [2] in my opinion is 100% bias! It's likely to believe then that we've been completely blind-folded and well-taught to how chase shadows in the dark. Blow your minds!
You can see a Bright version at the CFHT [

Note The Pleiades, Jupiter & Aldebaran at time 1:00
Venus, Betelgeuse & Orion around 1:16
Then Pollux, Procyon & Sirius at time 1:30
Mercury is below Pollux, but too close to the Sun to make out.
Disclaimer: "The Cloud Camera is an experimental high sensitivity camera mounted to the catwalk of CFHT...Because of its sensitivity, even very faint things in the sky can appear very bright. The moon looks a lot like the sun and the planets appear brighter than we are used to seeing them. Even a crescent moon is so bright it saturates the image like the sun does to normal cameras...This camera is facing East towards Hilo and you can usually see the lights of the city and the belt road through Hamakua along with boats and barges on the ocean. You can also see inter-island and mainland flights arriving and departing from Hilo airport..."
