All I have to say for those on here saying its not a big deal cause it's just a tropical storm, I just have one question for you - have you ever experienced a tropical storm, or even depression for that matter? Do you have any idea how much rain these things can dump in a short period of time?? I am in Northern VT - remember hurricane Irene? Everyone was so worried about Boston, New York, etc. Guess who got the worst damage from that? Yup Vermont, although more the southern parts. Where I am there was not extensive damage, but in some places it was horrible. Was it from strong winds? Nope, the thing died down wind wise pretty quick, but the rain caused a LOT LOT LOT of flooding and some places are still trying to rebuild and recover.
If this storm does not get significantly stronger, then no, we won't be talking about a huge doom situation, but it still could get pretty bad for some people. So, people in potential impact areas NEED to be preparing now. It's not something to take lightly. Too many people here did - after all, who would ever expect Vermont to get tropical weather bad right? Unfortunately, more should have taken it seriously, but it was too late....
