I'm a projectionist in a theatre built in 1940. The last projectionist in my city who works with 35, 16, an 8mm film. We show old stuff and new stuff that otherwise wouldn't get shown.
Anyway, this morning a really odd thing happened in the booth while I was changing bulbs on my projectors.
We have a house mic that hangs from the roof of the auditorium. It's connected to a little speaker in my booth, so I can hear when we have a speaker or guests. Helps me control things from up in the booth. The booth speaker is old, from the 40's as well, I'd imagine.
This morning while I'm changing the bulbs, I hear "It's going to be exciting" and some sort of yelp come from said speaker. I check it. It's turned all the way down. It's also turned off.
I have no idea what it was, but that voice I'll never forget.
Happened about three hours ago.
This is the only thing like this that has ever happened to me.
