[quote:Anonymous Coward 23012068:MV8xOTc1NzMxXzMzMTc2OTk1XzU1MTE3RTVG] I guess I'm the winner so far: I had chickenpox one month before I turned 43!!!:tounge: I was exposed to the virus many times since childhood so I also thought I was immune to it. However, one beautiful day, there came the fever, the itching and those nasty things (blisters) erupted all over my body. But I was lucky, the symptons disappeared as soon as I was treated (it took sometime for the blisters to dry completely and vanish altogether). Fortunately, it left just two little identations on the side of my nose and a tiny white spot in my chest. (I was terrified there would be visible scars but that didn't happen. Thank God!) If I were you, I would take the vaccine despite all the reservations against it. The doctor was very emphatic (scary even) when he explained all the risks involved if the treatment wasn't taken seriously. Anyway, I hope your case is just like what was described by other posters: as a child you had a mild case of chickenpox, which you don't remember, and became immune! Best wishes:peace: P.S.: "Perebas" is the Brazilian Portuguese word used to describe the blisters that erupt from your head to the sole of your feet.:hf: [/quote]

Both my brother and I, who are around the same age, have never contracted this virus. I remember when we were little we were purposley exposed to my neighbor kids who had them so we could "get it out of the way" so to speak. The mission was a complete FAIL!
From what I have heard over the years if you get it later in life it is ALOT worse to deal with and can possibly result in death! Does anyone else know anything about possibly being immune?
I do have a stong immune system due to the fact that I have copper based blood but not sure if that has anything to do with it... Hmmm...
