The only thing the Lily Ledbetter Equal Pay Act did was to change the statute of limitations on pay discrimination. The Supreme Court in its infinite wisdom had previously decided that the 180-day period started when the original pay decision was made, even if the employee doesn't find out about it until much later. The Act changed it so that the period starts with the most recent paycheck affected by the decision. Even so, the votes were as follows: Senate: Democrats 55-0 Independents 2-0 Republicans 4-36 House of Representatives: Democrats 247-4 Republicans 3-173
Changed the statute of limitations, exactly. Now for the other half of my question which you so skillfully dodged... any clue?
Easy. Because the republikans ALWAYS are on the wrong side of every labor issue. I told myself this political season I would refrain from voicing my opinion to anyone regarding politics as both parties are corrupt in several ways. But I have to tell you I watched the RNC every day last week and the DNC today and what I am seeing at the DNC is repulsive. It's about divisiveness, spreading racial and gender tension, distorting facts and the overall atmosphere of HATE and it's embarrassing and unnerving. We are in DEEP TROUBLE America and to think otherwise is intellectually dishonest.
Tell me where I am wrong my fellow GLPers.
