Original Message The History of Mankind – Condensed for Beginners

God created Adam and Eve and put them in a perfect paradise to live forever. Everything was perfect, their bodies, the earth, the animals and their relationship with God. They lived in perfect bliss. They were created in the “image of God” and we can’t even imagine what perfection looked like and felt like, but they had it.

God had one commandment, just ONE! Genesis 2:17 “but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." God knew that satan wanted to destroy His creation because he hated mankind. And he tempted Eve, and she blew it. God’s commandment not to eat of that tree was for our own protection, for our own good. Just one commandment!

Having everything wasn’t good enough, and Adam and Eve decided to go against God and do what they wanted and they ate the fruit. They basically called God a liar saying “no, we won’t die” and they ate it. At that moment, everything changed. After Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate the fruit (whatever that was) sin entered into the world and everything changed. Their bodies were changed, the earth was changed, and the animals were changed. It was a whole new ballgame and nothing was ever the same again. Through Adam, sin entered into the world. Romans 5:12 “When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam's sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.”

Adam lived The Bible does not say how long Eve lived, but Adam died at 930 yrs, just shy of 1000 years. So, by God’s time, Adam died before the end of one day. “ With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.”

Cain went on and killed his brother and started a race of people who were pure evil, they practiced all kinds of terrible things. Then the angels came down, took on human form and mated with human women and produced an abominable offspring called the Nephilim that were evil hybrid giants that did terrible things.

The evil was so great on the earth because man decided to ignore God and His commandments and do what they wanted. The angels also ignored God and followed satan, and the result was awful. Only a handful of people were found upright and worthy, Noah and his family. God saved them and destroyed everything else by means of a global flood. Noah and his family survived in the ark, and eventually re-populated the earth.

God knew He was going to send His son to redeem mankind, and He picked a group of people that His son would be born into. He gave them basic instructions on how to live.

1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain
4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
5. Honour thy father and thy mother
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
10. Thou shalt not covet

Before those “basic instructions” could even be delivered, the people did their own thing by making an idol and worshipping it. They couldn’t even wait till Moses came down off the mountain with the 10 commandments before they broke them.

Yet, God in His mercy didn’t destroy them, but gave them a more rigid and strict law to live by, to set them apart from the rest of the world as a holy people, the nation of Israel.

The messiah (Jesus) was eventually born to a virgin girl by means of the Holy Spirit, and He was crucified on the cross so that we could be forgiven of our sins. Now we are made holy through His blood, and are under a new covenant.

Jesus told His people to go and tell the world so that they too can be saved, redeemed. There was a time limit set, He is returning again to destroy the wicked and establish His Kingdom here on earth.

We are now waiting for His return. It could happen at anytime now. One will appear first and deceive many into believing that he is Jesus returned, this is the antichrist- satan. Don't be deceived by him and his tricks.

Then Jesus will return in the clouds, every eye will see Him, and He will judge the earth and cleanse it from all wickedness.

Basic Questions & Answers

Should we still keep the 10 commandments? YES! They are basic guidelines on how to live properly according to our creator. It’s common sense. You can’t live a life pleasing to God while you go out murdering, lying, stealing and raping. We are under a new covenant, but he original 10 commandments still stand, they were not done away with. They were first and foremost, and they are basic living instructions for all people. They are not burdensome in anyway, shape or form. They are about loving God and loving your neighbor, which is the right way to live.

Can you keep the 10 commandments as an atheist? No because you must believe in the Father and His Son for forgiveness of your sins.

Can you keep the 10 commandments; believe in the Father, but not Jesus? No because if you reject the Son, you’re also rejecting the Father. The Son is part of the Father, He is the only way sin can be forgiven. Jesus IS God’s mercy. If you reject the Son, you will have to pay the penalty for your sins because there is no other way to be forgiven.

What if you break a commandment? Pray and ask God to forgive you through His son Jesus Christ. Then do your best not to make that same mistake again.
Is there sin in heaven? No, because we have a new perfect spiritual body in heaven, a gift from the Father because of our faith in His son, Jesus Christ. Everything in heaven is perfect in every way.

How do I become saved? By understanding that Jesus was God in the flesh (the Messiah), that He came down from heaven into the form of a man to die for your sins. Pray to The Father in heaven, ask Him to forgive you of your sins through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross. Ask Him to be your Lord and Savior. Then do your best to live the right way, praying to Him as often as you can and read His Word to learn more about Him. When you screw up, pray and ask for forgiveness and do your best to live a life pleasing to Him.
