The pieces of the ping-pong ball will visually seem flat because they're too small. Chop a basketball in 360 pieces and the pieces will display more curvature because the pieces are bigger. On the biggest sphere when viewed from above, say, 30,000ft in a window seat flying to your favorite destination you'd see that piece of curvature so clearly its magnitude would be inescapable when flying in airplane of its depths as they slope down underneath the curvature on more land around the imaginary science of earth.
People who see a curvature on the flat earth have had their brains tweaked into not registering what their eyes see, and therefore, have become blind to what is happening or finding a solution to correct the inevitable train wreck.
