So why doesn't your camera have the same field of view as your eyes?  Didn't you get it to record what you saw on vacation?  Why are movies filmed through a different lens?  Wouldn't (according to you) it be impossible to involve the audience with a point of view that didn't match their own experience?

Humans are pretty good at adjusting.  Still frames are a static medium; our eyes record a dynamic environment.  The choice of what to put in frame is made from aesthetics and story-telling needs -- not mechanical replication of the gross optical structure of the eye.

That's the standard technical terminology.  It means: what enters the lens.  It can be thought of as a projection of a truncated pyramid whose sides are at the specified angle in relation to each other.

The other thing to note is that people who are experienced understand the geometry of the optics.  To a scientist (or to a cinematographer, or to an architect for that matter, or to a number of other associated fields) it isn't necessary to make a lens that is identical to the human sphere of vision, or be reduced to blindly guessing about matters of relative scale, depth, etc.  These are all simple to work out geometrically.

Both suns look the same size even on Mars which is 70 million km further then earth and should most definitely optically shrink in size and appear much much smaller even if you believe the sun's light changes from a mellow yellow to a moon white the further the sun gets from your point of view.

NASA has fawked up totally.

Alert the President.

Tell him that a huge conspiracy to funnel many Public funds given for this project are being mis-appropriated into Swiss bank accounts no doubt. I mean, where would a bunch of scientists with billions of dollars to hide go if not the Swiss would be the most logical choice.

I'll alert the Canadian government and brief them on the conspiracy. UK officials should also be alerted and have INTERPOL open an investigation. Too much monies are simply being stolen from Public funds from every country that contributes to Space exploration. That means most of the western world.
