My mom admits that Jesus did not challenge slavery.
Why not? You did not have to keep slaves back then. Yet Jesus tells us to beat them.
They say it is wrong to hold people of the past to our modern moral standards. But Jesus is supposed to be perfect without sin. Clearly slavery is sin and he is allowing it.
