Seriously, all this over some low budget BS movie trailer? It is important to remember, that these protests are not representative of the entire populations of these nations. These are protests of thousands of people, in countries of millions. Yet still, small dedicated groups are capable of much destruction. This is just another shining example of the terrible influence of radicalized Islam. Im sure the hard working normal people of these societies, are shamed by this behavior. Much in the same way that as a southerner, "honey boo-boo", shames me.
Yet still, the fact remains. That small or not these groups are attacking western embassies. Causing major damage to the buildings, as well as, their nations standing in the court of public opinion. The governments of these nations should act to curtail such violence. Sending a clear signal that the enemy is radicalized Islam. By not sending these signals to their people. In a way, these governments are legitimizing the actions taken. If they dont have the courage to stand up to the radicals in their countries then they are not fit to rule. Or, even worst. They actually agree with these actions. .
I think we can all agree that the video in question is clearly offensive. In a major way. However, there is a way to protest, without it turning to a violent celebration of death and destruction. After all Im not burning down the corporate headquarters of the network that airs, "honey boo-boo". Which brings us full circle, why are the Muslims so easily manipulated? What is it that makes them so easily offended?,so easily provoked to violence? I believe that it is religious extremism, combined with poor education, and magnified by the internet and modern modes of communication.
Thoughts GLP?
