Growing up [specifically in middle school] I was in a phase where/when I was trying to further individualize myself [I was already 1 in like 100,000 for growing up in foster care--I wanted to be that 1 in a million] so I created a little saying for myself, "Life is just a game [of cards.] Everyone's just playing their cards."
Now, as I'm 30 years old I'm able to add to that
"Life is just a game of cards. Everyone's playing their cards dealt to them and working with what they got. If life wasn't a game life would be setup in a box with strict regulations and rules. Because we are allowed to have cheats and rules applied only at certain times...life is nothing more then a game."
Because of this, cause and effect go out the window and more religious-type ideals such as "deserving" and "worth" (beyond monetary or goods/duties) get replaced...to gray that fine line between what's to be done and what's a game.
