[quote:Anonymous Coward 24106062:MV8xOTk4OTI1XzMzNTc5MDg3X0MzQzRERUE3] [quote:Psychobilly:MV8xOTk4OTI1XzMzNTc5MDMyXzUwNUFGM0Uz] Every once in a while I think the same thing too. I start thinking self-defeatist thoughts and think that my life is not good. There are 2 things, I think that will make you appreciate every second of your life. 1. Being in the Military (done that) 2. SALVIA YES, Salvia. If you want to appreciate your life as it is now. Get some 20X Salvia. Pack a pipe and take a KING KONG hit. I do this about 2x a year. Alone. I guarantee, 10 minutes later, after the terror is over, you'll appreciate your life in a much needed new light. :)
Re: 1. I think many vets actually wish they could forget what they experienced in the military. It is extremely sad and dehumanizing. It's good that you grew from it instead. You are in the minority. 2. Glad you also grew from Salvia. Some people will have a "bad trip" though and have the opposite of your experiencing. That's probably the minority but still a risk. More importantly, you don't need drugs to appreciate life. I don't drink or do drugs to have an amazing life. I don't like not being sober because part of being able to obtain the great joys of being able to understand life and accomplish meaningful things is to be clear-headed. If you drug yourself, that's like filling your ears with cotton balls and then trying to hear the world's most beautiful music, and joining in with your own instrument. I find the cotton balls very much "in the way" of what I want to do.
Whenever I tell anyone that have such a shocking reaction like "How can you ever say life is boring?! Look around you!"
Thing is, I do. Nothing is exciting. People around me watch sports, play video games, go shopping, etc. and none of it interests me at all. What is the point? All I ever do is work and sleep. People my age tend to smoke a lot of weed and drink and go to the club on the weekends but I can't do all of that- it's just so boring and people at the clubs are so fake. So I just stay home and listen to music or just drive around aimlessly wishing I could be somewhere else besides on this exhausting and uninteresting planet.
Yes - little things do excite me like watching the sun set or going on hikes but all of it is short-lived pleasure. The sun eventually goes down and it gets dark outside, or the hike eventually comes to an end and then I'm just left there thinking, "I wish there was more!"
I'm not depressed, I just feel like I've been here on earth way too many times and it's all so mundane. Winning a million dollars isn't even going to fix this feeling I have. I feel empty and unfulfilled. I just wish I could lose myself in mindless antics of today just so I don't sit here wishing I could just vanish. I live to work and then I wonder why? Why am I making money when nothing I buy brings me pleasure. I'm just surviving I guess.
