Before you jump in and say nothing will happen...I realize the Mayans never said the world would "end" on this date, and that the entire calendar thing was hijacked by the apocalyptic/armageddon people and to make a quick buck.

However, wasn't the concept of the "end of time" in there somewhere? The acceleration on earth changes, frequency of EQs, freak weather, etc. is now undeniable.

So, what does the "end of time" mean? The Mayans and their time keeping methods were the most accurate in history, still only off by fractions of a second and as accurate as the atomic clock. They were a culture obsessed with astronomy and time-keeping.

So is the fact of the alignment and our return to Galactic center the basis for the calendar? Is it just a reset of our next orbit around the galaxy? Will anything noticeable happen on our planet as a result?
