I saw the X-rays, and those were taken before deployment. The first joint of my big toe looks like a flange, and the ends of each bone are curled back like scrollwork. Even if I do end up with a limp, I'll adjust. I've heard of people running marathons with a fused toe. [/quote]
...so you'll probably see a lot more of me for the next month or so.
UPDATE: Back home now, on Percocet and feeling no pain. I actually had no cartilage left in the big toe, so they had to fuse it
