Original Message Many of us here on GLP know that you can get antibiotics without a prescription. For those to whom this is news-- antibiotics for animals are the exact same (even the same manufacturers) as those for humans. Of course they shouldn't be taken willy-nilly, but sometimes you KNOW you need them. Some people can't get to the doctor and some don't have insurance. They are more expensive than getting them covered by insurance, but when you factor in time lost from work for doctor's appointments, and the fact that you may get worse before you can get in to see the doctor, they look a whole lot cheaper.
