I am surprised to hear any union worker vote republican.
are you going to bring up the union's war on the worker? the rank and file are being sold a bill of goods which doesn't exist, but most workers can not work the jobs they want unless they are member of a union. it is a vicious cycle and while there was plenty of work it was ok and probably a workable relationship, but it isn't like that anymore. the union leaders collect dues and pass it along to dems who then keep the leaders in power. after this election union rank and file need re-think their union elections too.
No, I wanted to know why the others that posted here that appear to be happy in their union are voting republican considering what went down in WI and OH?
Oh, are you referring to the Governors who actually had the balls to tell the PUBLIC Unions that the Taxpayers were up against a wall financially and that there was NO MORE MONEY for 30 per cent raises, 100 per cent taxpayer-covered health insurance, and lavish retirements? There have been NO "attacks" on PRIVATE Unions, those which are negotiating with PRIVATE companies and corporations. I can only hope that the Governors of the OTHER 48 states have the guts to confront the greedy, grasping PUBLIC unions and tell them to either move into the 21st Century or move aside for someone who would LOVE to work and would consider themselves fortunate beyond belief to be working for HALF of what the PUBLIC union thugs seem to feel that they are entitled to. I am a Union Boilermaker. I played the party line last election.
After a very long summer low in work, i finally got called for a job. I decided this morning on the drive in, i would not bring up politics. unlike here ,i have to see these guys every day for the next few months.
I didn't need to bring it up, it was the talk of the day. 15 men and not one for Obama.
All had watched the debate and the statement by Romney about his love of coal won every man. I was Surprised and shocked. We work on power plants and Obama's war on coal has already affected our lives !!
Not one, No one "on the fence" not one.
I won't be on here as much for awhile ( long drive , many hours) but I'll keep you posted.
The Coal Mining Union for the first time has not endorsed the Democrats. When Men are working and providing for their family's honestly a lot don't vote cause their working. Not This Time !!!! Just like me their mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.
