[quote:Epic Beard Guy:MV8yMDEyNDAxXzMzODE2MzkwX0I0RDRGMUVD] [quote:Anonymous Coward 9069073:MV8yMDEyNDAxXzMzODE1NzU4XzMwNjMxRTA=] I have decided that http://www.radiationnetwork.com/ is useless, if not BS/disinfo. Maybe it's just averages - but if it spikes over 500, I want to know. In any case, the data do not agree.
Radiation Network is the only private radiation survey I know of. It is not controlled by any government agency. Their coverage is a little spotty because they are all volunteer. Every reporting station is an independant radiation monitor. The radiation meters are hooked directly to the computer, so nobody is controlling the reading. I trust Radiation Network way more than any other report, because they are not trying to control the info as it goes out. The only way you miss a high radiation event is if they don't have a reporting station near the event. When they get a high reading, they will figure out why and let you know what caused it.
Looking through all the states, Virginia is really, really high. 100 is bad. 500 is very bad.
If you live in VA, how do you feel?
