[quote:Anonymous Coward 25406446:MV8yMDEyOTYwXzMzODU2MjA0X0ZFMUUyRDg=] [quote:JJ 25304104:MV8yMDEyOTYwXzMzODMwNTkzX0VGMjM3MENC] Hey people, location: chateauguay, quebec Time: just after midnight ~ 12:20 what a weird one! have experienced 3-4 earthquakes around montreal (south shore) over the past 26 years, and this one was soo strange. I was sitting around watching t.v just after midnight, and then a familiar deep pitch sound started off in the distance, then got louder and more deep over the next 5 seconds or so. (coming from the north) Very similar sound to a 737 or slightly larger aircraft passing over at lower altitute from dorval across lac st-louis and southbound. but after a good 7 seconds or so......it got louder to the point where it started really vibrating the ground (not shaking left-right like other type quakes) so i hastily got up to check out the opened windows. trying to spot a plane or something of that nature. I saw nothing, so I ran to the door just as the sound was fading. On my way to the front door, there was a boom or final deep resonance, and that was it. I find it odd that that the sound and vibrations seemed to be traveling instead of other earth-quakes, where all the action is all at once. It felt more like a shockwave if you know what i mean. [/quote] seriously... i felt the same way..and i received a weird double wave of wind before the shaking....i have never felt that before but i saw it and felt it as we see shockwaves in the movies....???? we need to see more proof ..my first thoughts were not at all an earthquake...seriously!!
