http://www.flickr.com/photos/assumptionoep/
If you work through the pics on Flickr, it seems to be expanding quicker on a SW to NE axis, the last pic in the series from the 23rd has a ribbon of open water / crack on the right hand edge of the pic, which is definitely over a third of the way to road to the north. As for the SW, it's closing very rapidly on the river / creek to the south. What it'll do should it reach the river is anybodies guess, but it isn't going to be pretty :( In fact if you look closely at some of the pics in the middle of the series marked 10/23/2012 you'll notice that the '...ribbon of open water / crack...' that's to the north is connected to the pond that is immediately to the west of the installation to the east. If it is a crack / sinkhole forming and not just an area of flowing water, then a large area of trees and that installation are about to down. The installation being the one belonging to 'Texas Brine'.
Reports of mysterious loud earthquakes flooding in to Louisiana towns — “Of course the sinkhole comes to mind” — Dozens of miles away — So rare, no seismic monitors in area
Nobody quite knows what caused the ground in some parts of Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes to shake, but it certainly has people talking.
A little before 2 p.m. Wednesday, reports began flooding in to officials of tremors accompanied by a loud noise.
Some people reported hearing a loud noise similar to thunder accompanying the rumbling.
[USGS] had nothing to report, though its closest monitors are in Assumption Parish and extreme west Terrebonne
