[quote:Anonymous Coward 19140795:MV8yMDE0MzE4XzM0NjA3NzEyXzY5RDYxNjc=] Wasn't there a chemical plant explosion just like this in Texas, Arkansas, Indiana, and Alabama recently? I don't know, so many I'm losing track. [quote:Paa Tal:MV8xOTUxNjAzXzM0NjA3NTkyXzM3MzRGM0Iz] A cleanup is underway near an explosion that scared some people out of their beds Monday morning. The fire at Monolyte Labs triggered the early wake up and evacuation of many residents on nearby streets. It happened just before 2 a.m. Delena Winans and her neighbors say they woke up to "at least 10 to 15 explosions." Flames shot through the roof of Monolyte Laboratories. Within minutes of the explosion, the plant which makes polymer to separate solids from liquids in the waste water treatment process was covered in flames. Slaughter, LA Fire Chief David Hughes says he has never seen anything quite like it. "Flames extended from every facet of the building," he said. http://www.wafb.com/story/20133212/cleanup-underway-after-huge-chemical-plant-fire :hiding:

Reports of mysterious loud earthquakes flooding in to Louisiana towns — “Of course the sinkhole comes to mind” — Dozens of miles away — So rare, no seismic monitors in area
Nobody quite knows what caused the ground in some parts of Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes to shake, but it certainly has people talking.
A little before 2 p.m. Wednesday, reports began flooding in to officials of tremors accompanied by a loud noise.
Some people reported hearing a loud noise similar to thunder accompanying the rumbling.
[USGS] had nothing to report, though its closest monitors are in Assumption Parish and extreme west Terrebonne
