So we heat up metals until they melt and then we apply special treatments during the cooling process in order to change their original melting points so they would be able to withstand ultra high levels of heat instead of its original resistance which allowed for it to be melted.
Its 2012 and everything is possible, have you considered if we are capable of producing metals that could withstand the highest amounts of heat on earth and be able to travel through the underground caverns and tunnels filled with lava.
