Original Message Last week my older daughter, who is studying Turkish in college, asked in an email whether I thought there would be a war between Syria and Turkey. I replied, "I don't think so, but it's possible," and then listed some reasons why war could happen. Sometime after clicking "send" I realized that those reasons were so powerful that I should have told her there's at least a fifty-fifty chance of war.
