[quote:Cheshire~Cat:MV8yMDE2Nzk0XzMzODkyOTI5X0I2M0E4NDY0] [quote:Anonymous Coward 25276568:MV8yMDE2Nzk0XzMzODkyOTAxXzhBRDc2RUQ0] Its probably the pick-up filter. The acetone is a good idea but dont use more then a few drops like the guy said. I know you know this but those saws are trash. I run four Stihl saws, a 066 mag, two 036's and 028 super, sometimes pretty hard for months on end. These things are bullet-proof, and easy to fix. My first 036 is going on ten years old, and I have been through more then a few bars/sprockets, this saw cuts like a mother-fucker, and only seems to get better with age. Even a used stihl will serve you better then a homelite. Do a little research and buy one on ebay. The 036's are almost as powerful as the 066 and don't weigh nearly as much. Amazing saws. When it comes to things like chainsaws and any other serious power tools, where you might really die if something goes wrong, I highly recommend getting the best gear you can. Operating chainsaws is a pretty big risk anyway, and it sucks when you get to the job and the saw quits.
I have a little poulon, but as long as you keep the chain sharpened it doesn't really seem to matter.
hi i have a homelight 46 cc chainsaw yes its a cheapie
i dont normally mess with these tiny motors but thought i have another go and have ended up frustrated as usual.
my question is about the carbs on these things. it is a carb
problem initially it would not start and run no matter what
without ether own the throat so i disasemble an cleane the carb because there was a very good chance of old fuel and
now i can get it to run with 3/4 choke but it shuts down
when the choke is removed.
i think i got the jets cleaned but could not work out how to
remove from the carb body is there some rubber gasket pump?
that could be causing this
and is this just a throw away job?
