[quote:friendly stranger 44919582:MV8yMDE3NzM0XzQwNjUzNTk4XzY4ODFFREND] [face=Verdana]If it's any consolation I just got hit by one of their IP's while just on some bullshit. I can't say much (lol) but I can say this, I handle lots of IP's with my computer so I need to block the bad ones. From what I see, it seems to be a mobile provider. Check this out, http://www.wikinvest.com/stock/American_Tower_(AMT) , that's the parent company of Verestar (Verestar is a company that went bankrupt years ago). Most likely what happened is that AMT IP's are blocked as a whole (because of the insecure data networks they provide, all are on mobile, therefore all can be compromised and hijacked easily, which is why it would be blocked by peerblock) and then AMT didn't change their Verestar server's names back to AMT. My last word? Don't worry about it. If it helps I get DoD IP's all the time. Are they looking for me? Probably not. They spy on everyone (but not me, mwahahaha), but they most certainly wouldn't be spying on people who actually want to understand the healthcare reform, as complex as it is. [/face] [/quote]
Original Message
Verestar, a subsidiary of SES Americom, is logging the IP addresses of every computer that goes to Obamacare2010.com. I discovered this by a happy accident when peerblock (search it on sourceforge to learn more) blocked the attempt and the site would not load. No matter what I tried the site would not load without first contacting a Verestar sever at IP 202.43.165.155. The site is not located at this IP, so why is the usage being tracked and more importantly blocked if it can't be tracked?
If anybody knows or can find out more please post it.
