[quote:Anonymous Coward 23406708:MV8yMDI0NTkwXzM0NjE4MzE4X0JFMEEzOEM5] Menaka, a City in Defeat. This is the desolation, Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in Menaka. Twenty-four hours after heavy fighting between the jihadists of Mujao and the MNLA, the toll is very heavy: many deaths on both sides in a city that, according to local sources, fell on Tuesday evening to Mujao. According to eyewitness accounts, fighting that took place on Monday was formidable. A few dozen men from the MNLA, mostly from the local Tuareg community, fought a large number of heavily armed MUJAO fighters from GAO for the good part of the day. After repelling several attacks, the defenders of Menaka, exhausted and without reinforcement, were finally overwhelmed Tuesday evening. MUJAO forces had been reinforced with heavy weapons and fighters from AQIM. MNLA did not provide reinforcements to its local fighters. By the end, the fight was completely unbalanced in favor of MUJAO. A local government official who led the defense of Ménaka was killed along with eleven other relatives. A local resident said that the men who defended Menaka were local people who had only associated with MNLA recently. According to him, the locals fought primarily to defend their town. Tonight Menaka is a defeated city. While the combatants have fallen silent, the dead are are still being discovered. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://www.rfi.fr/afrique/20121120-mali-menaka-ville-defaite-mnla-mujao-azawad-aqmi-qaida-ag-hamatou-touareg-ouelleminden&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://www.rfi.fr/afrique/20121120-mali-menaka-ville-defaite-mnla-mujao-azawad-aqmi-qaida-ag-hamatou-touareg-ouelleminden%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26client%3Dsafari%26tbo%3Dd&sa=X&ei=vQ-sUJ_gB6yM0QH3hoCwCA&ved=0CDMQ7gEwAA [/quote]
Background - About a year ago, I stumbled on a website run by a group of students in France. They represented an organization called the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad (MNLA is its initials in French).
I kept up with their movement to establish an independent Taureg state in Northern Mali. As I followed their statements and the occasional MSM article, it became apparent that something was not quite right. These kids were being set up. I came to believe that I was watching Western intelligence operation to create the pretext for Western intervention in Africa (in other words, I was watching a "false flag" war in the making)...
By early October, the yellow journalism building the case for war was undeniable...So, I decided to create this thread. Using MSM news sources (with occasional commentary posts) I tried to give the background on what is happening in Mali & why it might be happening....
Thanks for reading - Here is my original post...
