[/quote] There are no such thing as aftershocks. The USGS revised the way they view quakes this year as well as everybody else. They are all earthquakes. So there were three earthquakes today. When there are alot of them they are called earthquake swarms. The swarms start and then lead to the bigger ones so watch out. Read more. ok pure speculation on my part but, if you check out RSOE or other earthquake sources you can see there were three earthquakes this afternoon :-
13.55 UTC Mag 3.9
14.21 UTC Mag 3.9
16.30 UTC Mag 3.9
Isn't that unusual, aftershocks are normally smaller than the initial earthquake ?
