[quote:Anonymous Coward 4420825:MV8yMDM4NDgwXzM0MjcxOTA2Xzc5Nzk5MjQ3] [quote:Anonymous Coward 25676821:MV8yMDM4NDgwXzM0MjcxMDA5X0U2MTdCNDU5] [quote:Anonymous Coward 24717484:MV8yMDM4NDgwXzM0MjcwNDg5XzkxN0JGMUU4] I have been talking to my wife about the east coast event, now she has become interested in doing a little prepping. We figure minimum 3 months of food and plenty of drinking water is a good start. Fuel and generator we already have and used it last night during an outage we had due to storms. That should give me some time before I start whining about our miserable condition when conditions are worst.
I hear this a lot, "Have a generator...." Listen, I have a generator, but gas is priced out of sight. IF we had to use ours, we could only use it a couple of hours a day. If shtf, we won't be able to depend on the generator for more than a few days. there won't be any more gas, no way to get more (beyond what you can store at home, and I find that dangerous). Besides, once "authorites" come around, I suspect there would be laws against using generators, as I suspect the whole idea is to bring all citizens into submission. I always figured a "whole home generator" working off natural gas, was a better option, but even that is temporary. I guess what I am asking is, aren't we ultimately fucked anyway? WOn't "they" just 'wait us out' till we are all brought to our knees, no matter HOW prepped we start off being?
You know, for all the fat asses and American Idle worshippers in the country, I've seen one one: The America Spirit is still there. Oh, we act like spoiled brats and do stupid stuff but there is a core group. The rural folk. Many call them rednecks. They're smart. They're not afraid of hard work and if push comes to shove, even asking them to go to their knees is like asking the sun to stop being so hot. You're just spitting in the wind. ...and maybe into a hail of bullets. They also have lots and lots of guns. 50% of the population is rural. I'd estimate that of the 100 million gun owners in the USA, 90% of them don't live in town. Not only do they not like being told what to do, they've got guns. We may indeed see hard times, but, there are some hard people out there ready to take it on. I SAY, BRING IT ON! WE'RE TIRED OF WAITING! THE PONZI FIAT SCHEME NEEDS A RESET AND WE'RE STANDING, READY FOR IT TO HAPPEN. Hurricane Sandy can kiss my ass. I've done blizzards, storms, tornados, floods, etc. I've got a years worth of food I've built up over 5 years, below ground. I've got 100+ gal of gas for the generator. Heck, Sandy would just be a blip for me. A vacation. Now, I do understand people have damage, and thats a problem, but all the whiney left coasters are just babies. Whining about gas shortages and food shortages. You had a week to prepare! Damn! What the hell is wrong with you people? Too many generations living in the city. Messes up your DNA and you become a drone. I bet the country people up and down the eastern seaboard aren't complaining. Nope. They're just moving right along while all rest are whining about gas shortages, etc. How many of you had an extra 5 of gas or two? For all our technical advances, most of you people are undeserving. You think I spent $30,000 on 30 acres of land because I just wanted to blow 30 grand? Get a clue. Get a life. Grow a pair. Its time to stop acting like children and get your butt busy working on taking care of yourself instead of expecting your fellow man to take up the slack. If you spent less on eating out and bought a few extra can's of gas AND drove like you had a brain instead of a death wish, maybe you'd have less problems with the "gas shortage". Sorry. My givadamn is broke.
Sandy left devastation in it's wake leaving millions displaced. Many homeless hungry miserable and now the tempertures drop.
Fuel shortages are rampant and hostilities are rising by the moment. Supplies are getting low and the radars up above show a storm cluster bombarding the north American continent, from the nor Easter riding the jet stream like a cross country tour bus , to the multiple storm fronts approaching the eastern coastline scheduled to hit land Tuesday and remain for 72 hours ....( north fl.- Maine). The results could be catastrophic to say the least.
So the questiOn posed is this ..... What are you going to do next? ( share your logical plans)
