We were wrong. I fully concede. I was under the false assumption America still existed. I was wrong. The welfare queens, homos, leeches, out of work college kids, trendies, commies, Occutards, Blacks, Latinos now outnumber anyone with common sense by a significant margin and they showed up at the polls today to vote for four more years of goodies and freebies.
Im not a welfare queen. Im not a biomedical. Im not out of work. Im white, 30 something, with a wife and two kids. Just face it. The people you listened to about the election are the same people you get your moronic talking points from and the same people who have convinced you that Obama is a bad president. These are the people who had you convinced that Romney would win in a landslide. Based on some idiotic assumption that all polls are systematically biased against Republican candidates. Which is utterly and completely false as evidenced by todays results. Here are the facts. Come tomorrow, those same idiots mentioned above, are going to begin telling you that Romney lost because he wasnt conservative enough. Which also is patently false. Romney ingratiated himself to the "tea-party" faction of the right until it was almost sickening. Going completely out of his way to prove that he was a "real" Republican. Not one of those sissy conservatives like Bush 41, or Dick Luger. You know the Republicans that the people with brains respect. And herein lies the problem. The Republican party has become totally out of step with where our nation is now, with respect to social issues and today women made them pay for it. Also, in a nation that(as you stated above not so eloquently), is becoming demographically more and more diverse. Has no message to appeal to minority voters and in fact, consistently takes positions that alienate themselves with minority voters. You thought "America" still existed? What does that even mean? This plays into the whole, "Obama isnt one of us" narrative. Which is a concept that more and more republicans are going to begin to repudiate. Serious political parties dont spend their time chasing paranoid fantasies, about their opponents being born in another country. Or, questioning his stated religious beliefs. They tackle serious issues, with serious answers. So expect that the days of the Donald Trumps of the world, having influence in the republican party to be over. Which brings me to the generalized extremism within the "tea-party" movement. Angry, middle aged, white guys. Upset that they are losing the dreamland from their false nostalgia. Angry enough to pull Romney so far to the right to secure the nomination, that he looked exactly like the extremist on social issues that Obama had painted him to be. Then when he did pivot, trying to moderate his tone, is was too late. He looked like the etch a sketch he was portrayed to be. So by pulling Romney so far to the right to satisfy themselves. The far right doomed Romney to fall into the trap that the democrats had carefully laid for him. But im sure when Rush, or Beck, or whichever of the for profit instigators of non issue bullshit you pollute the air of your house with everyday. Tells you tomorrow what Ive just told you they would say. That Romney lost because he wasnt conservative enough to carry the tea party banner to victory. You will take your new marching orders and carry on. Holding the country back another four years and really demeaning yourself more than anything else. Because remember, they told you that the republicans were gonna win this election in a landslide. That it was in the bag. They gave you completely made up statistics to justify their insane ramblings. Only to find, it was all lies. So maybe, just maybe. You should find a new source of information and work harder at helping to moderate the message of your party. So that it can become viable and relevant in the 21st century. i.e. Republican are never going to get your economic message across, as long as they maintain extreme positions on social issues. There arent enough white bible thumpers to win elections for the conservatives anymore. Time to try a new tact.
Well said. Its just a cold, hard reality that the Repubs will have determine if they are willing to broaden their base.
I just wonder. Will you still listen to Dick Morris? Or any of the other con men? Where are all the big mouths? Where is the Reagan landslide? I thought the polls over sampled dems and when "unskewed" should the "real" results. What happened to that? This site was full of political experts until an hour ago. Where did all of you go?
I guess my B.A. in political science, trumps your blog reading skills after all, huh. Who woulda thought?
