Iran says it will hold ‘massive’ week-long air defense drill as tensions with West escalate
Gen. Farzad Esmaili, head of Iran’s air defense headquarters, says the drill will include Iranian jet fighters, drones, air defense systems and about 8,000 troops.
Esmaili is quoted by the official IRNA news agency on Thursday as saying that the area of the war games will cover nearly the entire eastern half of Iran. The exercise is to start on Saturday and last seven days.

Iran open to negotiations with America ‘even in hell:’ top official
“Negotiation with the U.S. due to pressure is not acceptable to us,” Larijani, an advisor to the Iran’s supreme leader, said.
He said that any negotiations with the West should serve Iran’s interests, adding that only Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei had the authority to decide on the matter.
Earlier, his brother Ayatollah Sadeq Amoil Larijani who heads Iran's Judiciary system, said, “The Americans should not imagine that they can blackmail our nation by sitting at the negotiating table with Iran.”
