[quote:Anonymous Coward 24599086:MV8yMDQ0MzQ1XzM0NTI4Nzc3Xzg0OTA0QTY5] A couple of years ago, I broke my wrist and had a cast that went to my elbow but pretty much encased my hand so I couldn't grip anything. The hard stuff was doing simple shit like buttoning a shirt. So, I put a 2 inch wide x 6 inch long piece of velcro on the inside of my arm on the cast (the "hook" part). It worked pretty good holding shirt tails so I could button the shirt, I also used the "pile" piece of velcro to cover it when I wasn't using it so it wouldn't stick to everything. You can get it in various sizes at most hardware stores. [/quote]

So, I was herding some squabbling cats apart, slipped on my hardwood floor and landed hard enough to break my arm a couple of days ago. Fortunately, it is not my dominant arm.
I have found tons of sites talking about the care of the cast, care of the break, itch and pain management- but few tips on doing day to day things.
I'm sure over tiime I will adapt to it but I thought perhaps some of you would have things you figured out during a similar injury that you might share.
Thank you in advance!
