If this is true, that is extremely ironic. Didn't America's and Russia's leaders learn anything from the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962?
Unfortunately what they think they learned is that the Soviet blink first. This time that may not be the case.
Krushchev was all systems go till Kennedy called him and offered to remove American missiles from Turkey ...if you call that Soviet blinking. More like Kennedy blinked. But for a very good reason, and it's the reason we're all still here today.
Hi folks,
You might have heard about this and why the MSM have chosen to be a bit quiet on the matter. It's scary, but this is an interesting read.
Now I see why Romney wanted to put $2 trillion into the military. Everyone was ridiculing him for it, but after reading this I wonder how Obama is going to manage this one.

Today, America’s military options against a power like Russia are limited by economic, strategic and political complexities. America remains a superpower, but with one arm tied behind its back.
Despite being ridiculed and laughed at for being old-fashioned on foreign affairs, Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney was strongly attuned to the Russian threat.
