[/quote] There would have been some kind of excess flow cut off valve somewhere between the meter/street and the furnace. It would not trigger whilst a gradual leak was occurring but likely only when the explosion occurred. Hence no leak would be detectable after that time. They never said there was no leak, only that they could not detect one. [/quote] I get your point. I understand the article. To me, it's that ole easy thing, common sense. No one knew that the neighbors left because they feared gas problems from their furnace. If no one there new them, and no one was aware they moved temparaily to a hotel room....could explain how no one was aware of a potential gas problem...but, I'm not convinced. [/quote]
Maybe 20-30 minutes ago? Felt like a car crashed HARD into the house... went outside and all the neighbors were coming out reporting the same. It was LOUD and gave the house a JOLT.
Then family members started calling to ask if it happened here too (they are also in S or SE Indianapolis).
Anyone else? I looked but didn't see a thread and nothing on the local news yet...
