[quote:El Quisqueyano:MV8yMDQ3Mjk4XzM0NDYyOTU0XzZDNTUyNzRD] [quote:Anonymous Coward 1135376:MV8yMDQ3Mjk4XzM0NDU2NzYzXzFCNDAyMUEx] smart-type bombs now detonate by laser trigger, so they are not detonated by hitting something hard like the ground, this keeps the explosive energy moving in more directions then it would if it was to hit hard in to something, the missile actually starts to detonate before the target. this keep the energy from just rebounding up into the air and also avoids energy getting absorbed into the ground forming a crater. you will notice not much of a crater for such a large explosion... and the shock wave traveled laterally through the air very well
I was thinking the same. These can be launched and or dropped from very high altitudes. You would never know it's coming. They use them to eliminate cartel leaders and Al-Qaeda leaders. These bombs detonate before they hit the ground, so as to not leave craters. So the governments of those countries have a hard time figuring out what happened. Like we have here.
Maybe 20-30 minutes ago? Felt like a car crashed HARD into the house... went outside and all the neighbors were coming out reporting the same. It was LOUD and gave the house a JOLT.
Then family members started calling to ask if it happened here too (they are also in S or SE Indianapolis).
Anyone else? I looked but didn't see a thread and nothing on the local news yet...
