Police responded to a domestic disturbance at the Shirley home in February 2011, according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report. John Shirley moved out of the house in February 2011, he said. Prior to the divorce, the Shirley family faced financial stress. In 2007, the Shirleys filed jointly for Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Court records show they had liabilities of nearly $410,000 and assets of about $316,000. Among their liabilities were two mortgages on the Fieldfare Way house, on which they owed a total of $225,794. The house’s value was listed as $230,000, according to court records. The bankruptcy case was dismissed in June. The house was listed for sale at $149,900 in late 2011 as a possible short sale, but it was pulled off the market in March at the request of the owner, according to real estate listings. The house had a gas furnace and a wood burning fireplace with gas starter, according to descriptions." http://www.indystar.com/article/20121112/NEWS/121112012
I think you are on the right track. Monserrate Roman Shirley (46 years old) ...AKA Moncie/Moncy and her boyfriend Mark Leonard took the cat to the groomers on Friday to board it. They busted a gas line, locked up the house and went to the casino for the weekend as a cover. This is starting to smell like an insurance job that ended up being a lot bigger than they had planned. Moncie's previous addresses include, Kalamazoo, Plainwell, Battle Creek and Grand Rapids, MI. Maybe someone should check to if any of her other houses blew up or burnt down.
I think there is a movie who's script is similar to this. Maybe they saw this movie and got the idea. I don't remember the name of the movie.
Original Message
Maybe 20-30 minutes ago? Felt like a car crashed HARD into the house... went outside and all the neighbors were coming out reporting the same. It was LOUD and gave the house a JOLT.
Then family members started calling to ask if it happened here too (they are also in S or SE Indianapolis).
Anyone else? I looked but didn't see a thread and nothing on the local news yet...
