[quote:not so right 1449133:MV8yMDQ3Mjk4XzM0NDg5MjczX0E0NjMwNkVD] To completely obliterate a house it would appear the explosion wave front would have to be very tight. Meaning the speed of ignition and expansion of gas was very high. I find it hard to believe a house filling with gas would be able to have enough oxidiser (oxygen) to allow the gas to burn fast enough. What I'm saying is the explosion start with ignition along with available oxygen and as soon as the oxygen is used up, the expansion of gases slows down considerably. What provided the additional oxygen or oxidative action ????? This is all basic high school level chemistry. It's the shockwave of expanding gases which cause the damage and secondary the burning heat of the hot gases. [/quote]
Maybe 20-30 minutes ago? Felt like a car crashed HARD into the house... went outside and all the neighbors were coming out reporting the same. It was LOUD and gave the house a JOLT.
Then family members started calling to ask if it happened here too (they are also in S or SE Indianapolis).
Anyone else? I looked but didn't see a thread and nothing on the local news yet...
