This article has interesting photos, that is some front yard! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2232538/Central-Florida-threatened-sinkhole-abyss-opens-family-s-lawn.html Residents worried by a second hole in the area in 2012 Engineers and homeowners can only wait to see what happens A quiet street in Windermere, Florida, has an unwelcome new visitor as a crater appeared overnight. Paul Padfield, the homeowner, first noticed the gap in his front yard on Monday morning after taking his son to school. WINDMERE, Florida (WTVR) – A sinkhole that has opened up in a Florida family’s front yard has the neighborhood buzzing.
It opened up sometime early Monday morning, but the Padfield family didn’t notice the big hole as they were hurrying out to school.
But when Paul Padfield returned a few hours later he knew something was up.
“It was 25 feet wide and maybe 6 feet deep at that time, and its been growing ever since,” said Padfield.
And since then the hole has more than doubled in size.
