Original Message Met someone a few years ago, and he was the first and only person I have ever felt a strong connection with....He texted constantly, took me out, and told me all the things women need/like to hear. Turns out he was in a committed relationship with another woman. The whole time I had no idea. I dropped him immediately, and we didn't have contact for over a year.

He reached out to me after some time, and we were friends for a good long while until he found out I had been casually dating someone. He was distant and indifferent, then a jerk, then said he wished it was him. Just when I was starting to reciprocate and about let him back in beyond friendship he pulled a disappearing act. Haven't heard a damn thing from him since....

Conclusion: Yes, I must be stupid.
