not everybody is sitting waiting to pump holes in folks that could have been avoided. i'd rather be perceived as a coward and retreat (if i could do so safely) than pump bullets in a fool. no police hassle. no self recrimination after the fact. no stray bullets killing the neighbor's chihuahua. no chance of a kevlar encrusted bad guy pumping holes in the wife and kids in a shootout. if your back is to the wall, by all means fight em off. if it isnt, lots would prefer to just scram from the scene

TULSA, Oklahoma - A south Tulsa family makes a daring escape through a bedroom window after they were awaken by a teenager trying to kick in their front door late Tuesday evening.
The homeowner in the 7800 block of South 80th East Avenue tells News On 6, he along with his wife and two college-age children heard the loud banging at the front door and got scared, thinking they were the victims of a home invasion.
