Any psychics or intuitives or regular Joes wanna give it a shot?
My 13 year old went to bed with both of his retainers in - woke up with only the top one.
It is a Hawley type wire/plastic retainer - and it is super highly unlikely that it's been swallowed. (I've asked the Ortho. and researched online.)
Have torn his room up (and mine) and pretty much disassembled the bed(s) - no luck.
I have looked everywhere obvious and some places that are obscure...
I have looked under everything - since we do have a cat that likes to bat things around.
I cannot begin to tell you all the places I've looked.
A bit of backstory to help you...
The retainer was definitely there earlier in the evening - I last saw it at about 6 PM.
My boy was not feeling well that evening, had a bit of the chills and just overall yuck - so he took some Nyquil and hit the sack fairly early.
He is sometimes a sleepwalker - but I'm almost certain he did not come out of his room till much later - when I went into his room to check on him - and he was getting up out of bed. I think he was sleepwalking/talking at this time (can be hard to tell) - but he headed for my room and just layed down in there till morning - except for when he got up once and got a drink from the kitchen. Next morning - no retainer.
I stay up late and am a light sleeper - so I'm pretty sure that's all he did during the night. Yet the retainer is missing - so who knows...
It will cost over $200 to replace. Damn.
Let me know what you "see" GLP... Thanks!
