Can it be said that we are a united people, here in the United States anymore? Can anyone tell me what we as a country stand for now, in this present day?
Every election is 50% versus 50% in the media, then, sure enough, 50% and 50% in reality.
Are real people even voting any more?
Or has the media becomes so powerful in its confirmation bias attraction that most people simply align with their affinitive pole when the switch is flicked:
This one is North. I most side with North.
This one is South. I most side with South.
And both would say together: Since magnetic poles repel each other, the other pole must be my enemy.
I have noticed even on forums like these, the tentacles of disagreement on the basis of talking points from the MSM now run rife. I remember when questionable things were always questionable despite partisanship! Where is that now?
I'm not talking about being a moderate among partisan politics. I'm talking about being the fringe of the lunatic fringe -- the conspiracy theorists, who despite partisan pole-shifts would see through the politicking divisiveness and ask the questions the mainstream media would oft ignore! And collectively, through that discourse, would arrive at answers not bandied about by any MSM source.
Where is that now? What happened?
