Original Message Friend of mine retired some years ago from working half his life at a coal company in Ohio. Said he lost his pension and 'black lung' check he and his friends got too. I can imagine how this will affect tons of people and their families that work a very dangerous job for years! Anyway, he said after months of changing names from company to company- they finally got their checks cut. Mind you, i think coal has been unionized for years, and the retirees never picketed i believe. I see some reports are that there is some legal work going on to get their money, but others can post any info they find clarifying the situation.
