"Gnosis"
knowledge and wisdom collide...
Gnosis is not the path to The Christ. It is the path to self. It has it roots in self sufficiency. Not utter lack of sufficiency in God and His Power. Trusting fully in God which is what leads a man To Christ. That some secret spiritual knowledge can bring a man to the fullness of The Christ. Only one thing can bring a man to The Christ. The Father... And when a man comes to The Father and The Son, he brings nothing of his own. Not spiritual knowledge or wisdom, not pride. Not self. The early Christians knew complete reliance on The Spirit of God to provide all things. They placed no confidence in themselves or their own selves. The complete opposite of Gnosis. And it is evident when one reads the gospels and epistles and compares them to the gnostic writings. Very, very different Spiritual driving force.
you have to be careful with what you let out
Careful of what OP? You ask what was Jesus true purpose? Simple; To reveal himself to children and hide himself from the wise.
