The only way for that to happen is for the Earth to halt in its rotation. Therefore it will not rise for some, but not set for others and remain dawn or dusk everywhere else. Tides will stop And then what about the moon's orbit.
The Sun ain't going anywhere. If anything strange is in the cards the alignment may halt or slow down our rotation and possibly our orbit, but it is HIGHLY unlikely since there are so many A.U.'s among the players.
I too am skeptical about this stuff. Sometimes I think critical thinking is a lost art.
