[quote:Anonymous Coward 15447489:MV8yMDU5NTcxXzM0NjUxODgxX0Q5Q0I3MDk=] [quote:SaveUSa:MV8yMDU5NTcxXzM0NjUwODYyX0IyQUFBQzU4] Since yours is the last post, I won't burden everyone with a lengthy bantering quote; however, I have to ask...how is it that you are so successful if the words you wrote are sincere? Please elaborate, because your charges are unfounded, and your posts certainly more pathetic than anything I relayed. Enlighten me, and maybe I will retract my initial response, but neither post you've made so far has succeeded in doing anything but confirm my suspicions in some ways at least. And I also "own a business" - one that wouldn't be where it is today if I didn't pursue it continually with honor, integrity and passion. So, if what you say is true, maybe your initial post (and reaction) is driven by some other motivation. Do you consider yourself an elitist? Someone that knows more than everyone else possibly? How did you come by your business? Did you "build it," or did someone else? In other words, I see a tone of arrogance within your words, which is typical of the left (but might be where I misjudged slightly), so I am simply trying to understand your basis and position before commenting further. Help me, and maybe we can have a healthy and rational debate.
First of all, how do you intend on participating in a rational debate, when you come in swinging and questioning the other side's sincerity? Sorry, nothing pathetic about my posts; I didn't rant on and make false assumptions about YOU, I didn't insult someone I don't even know but rather commented on the foolishness you yourself provided in your response. I happen to believe that when someone rushes to such judgment, it's foolish and as I wrote, that kind of thing is why there's little rational discussion in the world today, and it is pathetic that human beings cannot exercise more restraint. My initial post was "driven" by the fact that I loathe anyone, be they celebrity, athlete, politician, etc. who has never had to work hard for what they have, but will sit back and judge and tell others to just "do it", to just get a job, any job. Would be interesting to see how dramatically their attitude would change if they were thrown into such dire straits as so many good people are today. Woolery is not, imo, someone who is qualified to lecture working-class people about anything, including that they should be job-searching 8 hours a day. He has never had to struggle or worry about jobs and financial security, and when he was hosting Wheel of Fortune (such grueling work!) he was making $65,000 a year and demanded a raise to $500,000 - what a jerk (and he's been married four times - good christian that he is), This guy is out of touch with reality, and it's sad that people are revering him as some kind of sage. I am 100% against career welfarists, but there are many good people out there right now, down on their luck, scared, and finding there is little to no place for them in the working world. Perhaps you've never been in that situation, Woolery hasn't, and anyone who has not, has no place judging unemployed people as a whole. Now . . . WHY is it so hard for people like you to understand that SOME of us have NO, NONE, ZERO political affiliation? Yes, it is a fact! Some of us, long ago, realized the two-party system is a destructive force, now dead, along with the nostalgic "American dream". I have NO respect for politicians and NO respect for anyone who votes, thinks, and lives according to partisan politics. I am by no means an elitist, and no one has helped me build my business - no government handouts, no grants, no loans. I'm not a corporate power, just a business owner who values honesty and quality in a world that cares little about such things anymore. And I worry, every single day . . . and I often think about "the good ol' days" when most of us believed all our dreams could come true and then I am saddened by how utterly appalling and dysfunctional the world is today, with few morals, little ethics, no boundaries. As for "knowing more than everyone else" . . . I know far more than some, not nearly as much as others. Nothing in my previous posts would be labeled as "arrogant" unless the reader is either obtuse or so wholly entrenched in their partisan affiliations that they refuse to be fair. Funny though, that you label the "left" as being arrogant, because the fact is that far more on the "right" are generally pompous and smug. If you want to continue to believe in the two-party system and generalize and label people falsely, have it at. But I won't be part of that kind of self-limiting irrationality . . . I prefer to think for myself, work as hard as I can, be a good person, and steer clear of the sheeple whenever possible.
