[quote:Anonymous Coward 25277122:MV8yMDYxOTE3XzM0Njg4NTQzXzRBNDgwNzI=] I think this gal did it to herself. No one forced her to post her rude gesture to Facebook. [/quote]

The recent developments regarding the two ladies who were joking around near the tomb of the unknown soldier at Arlington, took a picture and posted it online have me thoroughly disgusted, as a US veteran and civil servant who has sworn to uphold the US Constitution.. I object.

Facebook has apparently usurped the constitution as a governing tool of the masses.
I understand that respect is a aspect that we aspire to receive and give. Torches and pitch forks were proven along time ago to not really bring the truth out.
The creation of Facebook pages to support those who have been bullied or wronged in some way is understandable, but the ugly mob mentality is disgusting and the results are often lack luster at best and serve to utterly destroy the target.
We should let the law handle criminals and civil law the others and not flash mob the constitution. Freedom to express yourself is a right we have struggled to hard for even if what you are expressing pisses off a million people. We as a society are better than this, please stop this madness.
Losing your job is tragic, especially when its not really because of what you did or said, but because a group of well meaning citizens creating a page on Facebook and got you fired..this is a tragedy, we all must bear the responsibility for were this is taking us.
Also I think someone should take a big shit on the tomb and post it on Facebook. Really what does it matter. You haven't taken anything away from that grave and the act only serves to reflect the freedoms and what we have struggled so hard for.
