Late this morning, I lost another friend to cancer, one of my last 2 remaining oldest friends. Over the past few years, almost all the friends in my immediate circle have died of cancer. Here I am, going to be 59 next month, and I have outlived all of my close friends except for one. Gee, if I was in my 80's, something like this would not be out of the ordinary, but at this age, this is just unreal.
The friend who died this morning, has been like a big sister to me all these years. She always had a listening ear to my calamnities, and a safe refuge, if needed. She has stood by my side through thick and thin. I am going to miss her so much.
